Marbella, which is my favorite spot on the coast of Malaga, is a place I return to year after year, always making sure to expand my list of must-visit places in this coastal city.

1. Explore the picturesque streets of Marbella’s historic center on foot
Get lost in the winding cobblestone paths of Marbella’s old town. These charming streets, gleaming in white, are filled with shops, artworks, flower-filled pots, cosy terraces, and picturesque squares like the one next to the Town Hall and the Ermita de Santiago. Take the opportunity to capture some iconic photos of Marbella; personally, I’m fascinated by the house adorned with shawls on its balconies, located precisely in Plaza de los Naranjos, as well as the wall decorated with blue pots and flowers on Calle Carmen.
Before moving on to the 5 things to do along the Marbella coast, I highly recommend taking a free tour like this one, as you always discover interesting facts about the city’s monuments, such as the Church of the Incarnation or the Chapel of San Juan de Dios, known as “el hospitalillo” due to its historical origin as a hospital.

Escape the sun under the cool shade of La Alameda Park, considered Marbella’s green lung. This tranquil place is adorned with lush trees, features an impressive central fountain, and ceramic benches decorated with iconic images of the city.
Also, while you’re there, don’t hesitate to indulge in some delights from the renowned Malaga bakery La Canasta, which is located right in the same area.
3. Discover the beautiful promenade of Marbella
Enjoy a refreshing swim at some of Marbella’s most outstanding beaches, such as the beautiful Artola Beach in Cabopino, awarded the Blue Flag for its quality. You can also relax at Elviria Beach, with its crystal-clear waters and fine sand, or visit the famous Bounty Beach, known for its stylish beach clubs, although they tend to be a bit pricey.
Take this opportunity to engage in exciting water sports, one of the most fun things to do along the Marbella coast. How about booking a kayaking session or maybe you prefer paddle surfing? Personally, I’ve tried almost all the options, although I never ventured to dive in these waters, although they say it’s an amazing experience.
4. Visit the iconic Puerto Banús, things to do along the Marbella coast
Explore the glamorous marina of Puerto Banús and be impressed by the luxurious yachts, elegant sports cars, and exclusive high-fashion boutiques. While some of these indulgences may be out of reach for most, you can explore this place on a bike tour, making it more accessible. Personally, I love to enjoy a delicious meal at Pizzeria Picasso while watching the boats go by. One of the things to do along the Marbella coast that never goes out of style.
